Manor House

What’s in a name?

Where Our Name Came From.

When I first started the business, one of the biggest challenges I faced was choosing the right name. I wanted something meaningful – something that reflected who we are, what we do, and the areas we serve, and like many new start-ups, I spent hours brainstorming, considering everything from my own name and initials, local village names, and words that described the type of cleaning we offered.

Our first name was Countryside Cleaning. It made sense at the time, as most of the areas we cover are rural. But it never truly sat right with me and a few days into running my business I wanted to change it.

I started thinking about my childhood and how I might connect my roots in Yorkshire with my life in Cheshire, and that’s when the lightbulb moment came. I wanted a name that linked where I came from with where I’ve built my life and business today.

The answer was Manor House.

Many of the properties we clean are large, beautiful homes, often manor-style houses. There’s even a Manor House in Tarporley, and many think we named ourselves after that. But our name has a deeper, more personal meaning for me.

I grew up in a Yorkshire village called Wilsden. Our family home was the last house on Spring Park Road, which met Manor House Road, and it’s a place that holds so many memories. Manor House Road is on a hill, and it’s where I learned to ride my bike, roller-skate down the hill, play in the woods, and explore the stream that ran behind the gardens opposite. I was even friends with the grandchildren who used to visit the Manor House further down during school holidays.

It all started to fit. A name that connects my past with my present, my roots with my community, and my personal story with the homes we care for.

And that’s how Manor House Cleaning was born — a name that truly feels like home.

We clean many different properties, and they all deserve the attention to detail of a Manor House.

Our mission has always been to offer a service that is consistent with our brand, and our trained and skilled staff ensure this with every visit.

We love our story, and we love our community for their everlasting support.

Thankyou for being part of our journey.
